About

As securities industry moves from a product-centred approach to a more client-centred approach, no matter how deeply involved you are in investment management decisions, you must have a solid understanding of each step in the investment management process. This course covers such topics as client objectives and constraints, investment policy statements, strategic asset allocation, periodic rebalancing, and the tactical approach to making investments that diverge from long-term benchmark weightings. You will also learn how to select mutual funds based on their risks and past performance data. Finally, the course also touches on managed products such as exchange-traded funds, hedge funds, and alternative mutual funds.

The course is one of seven within the Advanced Mutual Fund Advice (AMFA) program, which is the learning path required to obtain the Certificate in Mutual Fund Advice. It is also part of the education required for the Personal Financial Planner (PFP®) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designations.
